| Heather DeShields is an American Abstract Contemporary Artist, with experience in Realism and Surrealism. Her work has explored past physical and emotional pain and continues to display rejuvenating and stimulating expressions of her fervent growth. Her experiences and understanding of the human condition has led her to create masterful works of art, such as her 2009 “I Shall Not Wince Nor Cry Aloud” & “Solace”. Her previous art is in honor of her brother, Daniel Surratt. It allows you a glimpse of her heart and soul. She has received various published recognitions including in, The Virginia Pilot, The News & Observer, The Associated Press, and her sold paintings “Kelpies” and “Machine Horse” were published in The Rebel (edition 52) in 2009. Heather’s current work has evolved into complex abstract pieces that are raw and evoke emotion. Her use of bold colors and brushstrokes draws the viewer in where you are able to appreciate the intense intricacy within each piece. |
